The Allgaier Group is a group of companies active worldwide in the automotive and process engineering sectors . history

In 1906 Georg Allgaier founded the company Allgaier Werke GmbH for the production of simple cutting and punching tools in Hattenhofen, Württemberg . The company was relocated to neighboring Uhingen in 1916. The first major order for bodywork tools was delivered to Belgium and France in 1928. In the following year, Allgaier began the serial production of pressed parts for the automotive industry. During the Nazi era , the company was involved with aircraft parts and wind turbines for irrigation purposes around the world, but also with bombs and propellants for projectiles.

In 1946, immediately after the Second World War , the company founder died. His family continued to run the company and two years later started producing tractors and threshing machines for agriculture. Due to the large order situation in the other business areas, there were capacity bottlenecks so that the tractor production was sold to the newly founded Porsche-Diesel Motorenbau GmbH in 1955 . This was followed by the production of screening machines and thus the "Process Engineering" division. In the mid-1960s, the company employed around 3,000 people, after which the agricultural machinery business fell into a crisis. The number of employees shrank to less than 1,000 by the 1970s.

In 1975 Dieter Hundt became a partner and sole managing director of the company. Two years later he founded the first manufacturing subsidiary in France. Further internationalization was promoted through acquisitions and the establishment of subsidiaries in Schleswig-Holstein, Sweden and Spain. In the 1980s, the company was expanded to include a new press shop at its headquarters in Uhingen and the northern German screening machine manufacturer Mogensen GmbH & Co.KG, and in the 1990s the Swedish screening machine and sizer manufacturer Fredrik Mogensen AB and the Spanish company Gosag SA added Beginning of the millennium.

In 2008, Helmar Aßfalg, previously Chief Technology Officer at Müller Weingarten , took over the management. Dieter Hundt, who was managing partner until December 31, 2007 and since 1996 German employer president, moved to the supervisory board on January 1, 2008. Since then, Aßfalg has been managing the business as chairman. The growth strategy started by Hundt was supported by Aßfalg with the establishment of Allgaier de México in 2009 and the Chinese subsidiary Allgaier Automotive Tool & Die Beijing Co. Ltd. and Almo Process Technology Inc. In the USA continued in 2010. In 2011 another plant followed in Puebla, Mexico, which was expanded to include another production site in Aguascalientes in summer 2018 . In 2015 a new location was opened in Oelsnitz, Saxony.

As of June 1, 2008, the previous company was divided into three companies: Allgaier Werke GmbH (holding company), Allgaier Automotive GmbH (toolmaking and pressed parts business) and Allgaier Process Technology GmbH (process engineering).
