Port of Liverpool Building

The Port of Liverpool Building or Harbor Port Building (former name: Mersey Docks and Harbor Board Offices ) is a building in Liverpool . In addition to the Royal Liver Building and Cunard Building, it is part of the so-called Three Graces building ensemble and is one of the city's landmarks. Located in the Pier Head harbor area , it is part of the urban area that has been a World Heritage Site since 2004 .

The building was designed by Sir Arnold Thornley and FB Hobbs and completed in 1907 in a three-year construction period. The neo-baroque Port of Liverpool Building is a reinforced concrete construction and cladding made of Portland stone . There is an octagonal atrium under the large dome . From 1907 to 1994 it was the seat of the Liverpool Port Authority.
