The Portal State Bank is a historic building in Portal , Burke County , North Dakota .

The banking company was founded on December 15, 1902 by Levy Haffie, Galin P. Makee, and Elias Pierson, with seed capital of US $ 10,000 . The likely start of construction for today's commercial building is in 1903 and its existence is assured for 1907.

Portal State Bank was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on October 3, 1996. It is considered the only commercial building in the county with such a distinctly neoclassical exterior.
