Portland Opera
The Portland Opera is the opera house in the city of Portland ( Oregon , USA ), which was founded in 1964.
The theater building offers space for around three thousand spectators. The season lasts eight months (from September to May), usually five rehearsals are undertaken per season. The productions are subsidized by companies in the region and individuals. From May to July the theater gives free performances in parks and schools, and it reaches a large number of spectators.
The orchestra and the choir are always available for the theater; contracts for individual seasons or productions are concluded with soloists and conductors.
The repertoire usually includes the standard repertoire.
