Posmo

Simodrive Posmo is a decentralized drive technology with servomotors developed by Siemens . B. can be used to drive automated production machines. The communication connection of the decentralized servo units takes place via Profibus .

There are three variants in total. For small outputs, 24 V and 48 V direct current types (Posmo A) are available in which the power electronics are integrated. For higher outputs there is the Posmo CD variant , with a central direct current supply (560–600 V) and decentralized power and control electronics, which are either attached directly to a servo motor (Posmo SI, 1.6 - 4.4 kW) or decentralized is attached near the drive. This enables the use of conventional servomotors that are available in a large selection. With the Posmo CA variant, the decentralized converters are supplied directly from the 400 volt three-phase AC network .

This system significantly reduces the amount of wiring required. Compared to a central drive concept, the costs for control cabinets and cooling can be reduced considerably.
