The Post SV Jena e. V. is a sports club in the Thuringian university city of Jena . It has around 180 members and does soccer , bowling and gymnastics . He uses the municipal sports field on Jenzig, which has two grass pitches, and the Jahnstrasse bowling hall.

Post SV was founded in 1990 by members of the Post Jena company sports community, as the economic basis for the BSG no longer existed after the changed economic situation as a result of the political change in 1989. The BSG Post was founded in 1951 as part of the reorganization of sports in the GDR as a company sports association for employees of Deutsche Post in Jena. It usually consisted of several sports sections, of which, however, only the football section was temporarily known beyond the district boundaries.

The first men's team in the soccer section rose to the then fourth-class district class Gera for the first time in 1954 and played there until relegation in 1967. In 1973 they returned to the district class, and in 1983 they were finally relegated from the fourth division. In 1954, the BSG Post was able to attract national attention for a short time, as the soccer team had qualified for the GDR-wide FDGB soccer cup competition in 1954/55. In the first round, Jena had to compete with the Suhl district class representative, Traktor Ober Maßfeld, where it lost just 0: 1. This ended the cup competition for the BSG Post Jena.

After the re-establishment of the Post SV, the bowlers overtook the football players, both women and men were able to qualify up to the state level. The first football team began in 1990 in the district league and rose in 2003 for three years in the district league. After that, the Post SV rose to the district class within two years. In 2011, he was promoted to the Jena district league (9th level). Since the association structure reform in the Thuringian Football Association in 2012, the club has played in the Jena-Saale-Orla Staffel Nord regional league. The 2nd soccer team has been playing in the 2nd district class since the 2013/14 season. In 2016, the first men's team finally achieved promotion to the Jena-Saale-Orla regional league, as the regional league season ended in first place with 63 points, 13 points ahead of second in the table. In the semi-finals of the district cup, the Post SV Jena failed with a 1: 2 nV against the higher-class district league team of SG FSV Hirschberg.
