Pott is a spirits brand for brown Overseas Rum Company HH Pott Nachfgr. Vertriebsgesellschaft mbH Rum trading house in Flensburg . Since 2006 it is a subsidiary of the Oetker Group belonging Henkell & Co. Sektkellerei .
history
The brand is derived from the founder, Hans Hinrich Pott , who founded the parent company as a distillery in Flensburg in 1848. In terms of marketing, the manufacturers claim that the synonym Der Gute is ascribed to it by various consumer groups, and the Der gute Pott brand has been protected since 1923.
After the Second World War , Pott rose to become the market leader in the rum segment in Germany. Pott is available in two types of alcohol, 40 % and 54% by volume.
