Pre-automatic pause

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As Präautomatische break (engl .: preautomatic pause) is in cardiology usually exposing the heart beat after completion of a paroxysmal occurring atrial fibrillation or flutter referred to as the sinus node as a pacemaker center not directly returns to work. If this pause lasts for several seconds, there is a sick sinus node (sick sinus syndrome ).

This formulation is also used less often when the AV node is the next functioning pacemaker center to start work in the context of a sick sinus syndrome or an SA blockage .

If symptoms such as dizziness or loss of consciousness ( syncope ) occur during the break , a pacemaker is implanted to prevent injuries from falling or to alleviate symptoms related to dizziness . If there are no symptoms, no therapy is necessary.
