Individual premium reductions

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

An individual premium reduction , abbreviated to IPV, is a discount on the compulsory health insurance in Switzerland , abbreviated to OKP, which is laid down in the Health Insurance Act (KVG).

Individual premium reductions are granted by the cantons or the Joint Institution KVG (responsible for beneficiaries in the EU, Norway and Iceland who receive a pension in Switzerland and are insured in Switzerland) to insured persons in modest economic circumstances and are in Art. 65 KVG for insured persons in Switzerland and Art. 65a KVG for insured persons in the EU, Iceland and Norway. Since the cantons and the joint institution KVG are responsible for granting individual premium reductions, there are very different legal bases. This means that each canton or the joint institution KVG implement the individual premium reductions differently.
