Precedence
Precedence (Latin praecedentia ) can mean:
- the operator precedence in mathematics and computer science
- the protocol order of precedence in politics and diplomacy
- the so-called precedent , a legal case whose decision has become the yardstick of other cases.
- in the case of clergy or religious of the Catholic Church, the precedence or precedence of one person over another according to the laws of the order of precedence ( hierarchy ); sometimes also denotes the priority of one liturgical festival or day over another when they meet in the liturgical hierarchy according to the basic order of the church year
