Test Equipment Management

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The test equipment management (also test equipment management, PMV) is part of the quality management . It aims to ensure and maintain the quality , reliability , operational capability and readiness of the test equipment in a company. Through the monitoring, test equipment should be able to provide the required performance at all times. This makes test equipment management a method for increasing process capability .

Section 7.1.5 of the EN ISO 9001: 2015 standard requires the introduction of a process that ensures the suitability and functionality of the test equipment.

In summary, test equipment management organizes the procurement, use and monitoring of test equipment.

The reversal of the burden of proof in the case of producer liability prompts the manufacturer of products to test safety-relevant features, to document the result, and also to provide evidence that the test equipment used is also subject to regular monitoring.

Without the monitoring of test equipment, manufacturers would not be able to provide evidence in the event of damage that everything possible was done to prevent the product from failing. Inspection equipment monitoring alone is not sufficient, but without it this proof can never be conclusively provided.
