Test reference (computer science)
The fulfillment of a requirement can only be checked meaningfully if there is a reference against which this check is made. This reference is called the test reference in quality management .
In software development , one usually starts from a requirement that describes the property to be fulfilled or the service to be provided by a product or system . This is laid down in a specification sheet.
To check whether the developed system meets the specified requirements, the system is in the context of quality assurance for its accuracy checked. This validation is carried out by comparing the target and the actual . Here, the system developed is the actual and the specification is the target . The specification sheet thus becomes a test reference.
