The Praga AN (Alfa Nákladní = Alfa commercial vehicle) was a delivery van and small truck variant of the Praga Alfa , which was built in different versions from 1924 to 1940. The rear bench was replaced by a loading platform, and from 1929 also by a box body on request. At times there was also a minibus variant called Praga AO .

variants

The series 1–5 were created from 1924 to 1926 and technically corresponded to the Alfa series 5–11 cars built at the same time. 500 or 750 pieces were produced.

From 1926 to 1928 the series 6-10 were built, they had the more powerful engine of the Praga Alfa series 12. 1100 or 1110 pieces and 70 minibuses with 12 seats (type AO) were built.

The Praga Alfa had meanwhile received a six-cylinder engine that was felt to be unsuitable for the truck. As a result, the AN of the 11th and 12th series (1928-29) received an engine with cylinders bored out from 62 to 70 mm, which now had a displacement of 1695 cm³ with the same stroke. The vehicle cost between 55,000 and 58,000 crowns, and 800 were built.

In 1929, from the 13th series onwards, the bore was enlarged again - now to 75 mm - 2500 pieces were produced from 1929 to 1939, according to another source 1500 in 1929, 500 in 1930, 501 in 1931. The vehicles produced from 1937 had a slightly shorter chassis. The engine used here was also used in the Praga T-33 small tank built in 1933/4 .

In 1931 100 units with the 2.5-liter six-cylinder engine of the Praga Alfa Ser.22 were built, in 1934 an unspecified one-off and in the years 1938-40 each 1 police bus, a total of 104 vehicles with six-cylinder engines.
