Praia da Alagoa

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Praia da Alagoa is a sandy beach in the Portuguese community ( Freguesia ) of Altura , county Castro Marim , in the Algarve .

The beach, also known as Praia de Altura, is part of the coastal section Baía de Monte Gordo (German: Bay of Monte Gordo) and borders on Praia da Lota in the west and Praia Verde in the east . In 2012 it was awarded by the Portuguese environmental organization Quercus for its unpolluted, natural water quality.

Between the town of Altura and the beach there are dunes and a strip of green overgrown with pines and rock roses . Umbrellas and boats are available for hire on the quiet beach, and windsurfing and sailing are also practiced here. For this purpose, open water swimming competitions are organized here .
