Praia do Guincho
Praia do Guincho is a beach in the district ( concelho ) of Cascais , in Portugal .
It is on the beach road between Cascais and Sintra . Due to the prevailing strong winds, the dune beach is a popular surfing spot with surfers and is therefore always the venue for various international competitions. The strong prevailing currents do not allow extensive bathing here, while the location of the beach often offers photographed sunsets. Also kite surfing is operated here.
The beach, which was the location of the opening sequence of the film James Bond 007 - On Her Majesty's Secret Service in 1969 , is part of the Sintra-Cascais nature reserve. As a frequent filming location of the popular Portuguese television series Morangos com Açucar , its fame continued to grow in Portugal, and it is a regular attraction for night owls from nearby Lisbon, who end the night in the beach bars here or spend the evening at occasional events, chilling out Out or beach parties.
The beach is only separated from the Cresmina dune by a road . A circular path on wooden walkways leads through the dune.
