Praktica MTL3

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Praktica MTL 3 is a single-lens reflex camera in the 24 × 36 mm format and belongs to the so-called L series , which was manufactured at VEB Pentacon Dresden .

history

The Praktica MTL 3 was produced by VEB Pentacon Dresden from 1978 to 1984. The camera belongs to the 3rd generation of the "Praktica L model series", of which around 1,200,000 copies of all 3rd generation camera models were made between 1978 and 1984. Between 3/1978 and 2/1984 just under 870,000 units were built by the Praktica MTL 3 alone, making it the most popular camera in the L series. Fundamental changes to the 2nd generation have not been made, only details such as the brighter and larger viewfinder image and the incorrect exposure warning through additional symbols (+/-).

Design and technology

The Praktica MTL 3 is essentially based on the Practika LTL and has essential features of the L series. The steel lamella lock was characteristic of the entire model range . The exposure time is between 1 and 1/1000 of a second as well as B, a return mirror with almost uninterrupted image observation and a (built-in) exposure measurement with working aperture. The fast loading system Pentacon Loading is used for film loading . For the first time, the chrome plating of certain plastics (top caps, base plates) was used.

Lens connection

The lenses of the Praktica MTL 3 are interchangeable. The M42 thread is used with a correspondingly large variety of lenses.
