Premier Trophy 2015/16
The Premier Trophy 2015/16 , also called AIA Premier League Tournament 2015/16 for sponsorship reasons , was the 76th season of the national first-class cricket competition in Sri Lanka . The winner was the Tamil Union Cricket and Athletic Club .
format
The 14 teams were divided into two divisions, each with seven teams, each playing against each other once. For a win, a team received twelve points, should it be a win with an innings lead. 14. If no result is achieved and the game ends in a draw, the results after the first innings count. There are eight points for a win and six points for a draw and none in the event of a loss. There are also bonus points for batting and bowling. The first four in each division qualified for the Super Eight League, the last three for the Plate League. In both leagues, each team competes once against each other. The first place in the Super Eight League wins the Premier Trophy.
