Prussian military honor
The Prussian military honor was from Friedrich Wilhelm III. Donated by Prussia on September 30, 1806 as a personal military award for bravery in the face of the enemy. It was awarded as a military merit cross in gold or as a first class military honor in the form of the silver military merit cross or second class as a silver medal and worn on a black and white ribbon. The award was only given to military personnel from sergeant down. A pension of three per month was associated with the Military Merit Cross, and one thaler with the second-class military honor .
Friedrich Wilhelm decorated the citizen Nettelbeck with a unique gold medal in 1807 for his part in the defense of Kolberg .
After 1864, the highest military award for men and officers in Prussia was the Golden Military Merit Cross .
