The Prime Timer is a hard disk recorder from the German company Schneider AG , which was launched in 1998 . The Prime Timer offers the television viewer the function of time-shift television .

In addition, films and programs can be recorded on its 40 GB hard drive like on a video recorder . This is made possible particularly easily by the built-in EPG (Electronic Program Guide), a type of electronic television newspaper that is received via the antenna connection of the device.

A few years later the further developed Prime Timer II appeared . FAST, which developed the Prime Timer together with Schneider, also launched a number of these devices under the name Fast TV Server . This product line included the devices:

  • PVR 100 (80 GB hard disk, 100 hours maximum recording capacity)
  • TVS SE 150 (120 GB hard drive, 150 hours maximum recording capacity)
  • TVS SE 150-N (120 GB hard drive, 150 hours maximum recording capacity, with network connection)
  • TVS SE 300 (250 GB hard drive, 300 hours maximum recording capacity)
  • TVS SE 300-N (250 GB hard drive, 300 hours maximum recording capacity, with network connection)

Conversions

The hard drive of the Prime Timer I and II can be exchanged for a larger model by yourself, which means you get a much longer storage time on the device. For the Prime Timer I, the device can be expanded to a sensible 120 GB.
