Prince Gholam

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Prinz Gholam (founded in 2000 ) is a German / Lebanese artist duo consisting of Wolfgang Prinz (* 1969, Leutkirch) and Michel Gholam (* 1963, Beirut). Both are performance and video artists . In their joint performances, similar to the Tableau vivant , they make their own bodies the object of their art. Attitudes that come from art history, films and the media are interpreted in long-lasting poses to create new images.

The video “My Sweet Country” refers to the painting “Entry of the Crusaders into Constantinople” by Eugène Delacroix and was presented at documenta 14 .
