Triangular ruler

The triangular ruler , triangular or prism ruler (also prism or stick ) is a ruler with six different scales. In order to accommodate these scales on a ruler, the cross-section of the scale is star-shaped and this "star" has three points. The triangular ruler cannot be used for drawing purposes due to its design, rather its sole function is to take measurements in drawings and plans printed to scale.

Triangular rulers are usually 30 cm long. Today these are made of a polymer material, or in high-quality versions made of light metal ( aluminum ). When selecting the materials, particular importance is attached to dimensional accuracy . In the past, triangular rulers were also made from wood and glued with scales made of aluminum or later with a high-quality polymer material that should be temperature-resistant and dimensionally stable. The triangular ruler is mainly used when working with different scales and time-consuming conversions are to be avoided.

Different scale combinations are offered depending on the area of application
