privacyIDEA is a multi-tenant and multi-instance capable system for two-factor authentication . It's open source , written in Python, and available on GitHub .

operation area

privacyIDEA acts as a backend for any application (such as web applications such as ownCloud, SSH , VPN ) and can therefore use classic, proprietary two-factor authentication systems such as bpsw. Replace RSA SecurID . It supports single sign-on using SAML . With the help of a credential provider, it is also possible to log on to Windows desktops and Windows servers with two factors.

Installation variants

privacyIDEA runs as an application in a web server on Linux systems. In principle, it can be installed quickly and easily. In addition to distributions such as Debian, Ubuntu or RedHat, it is also available as an app on the Univention Corporate Server . This enables two-factor authentication and single sign-on on the Univention Corporate Server in a simple manner.

Authentication devices

privacyIDEA supports a variety of authentication devices. Including hardware tokens such as Feitian C200, the YubiKey from Yubico, Nitrokey or U2F devices. In addition, smartphone apps according to HOTP and TOTP such as the Google Authenticator .
