Private Chapel (Schönbrunn)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The private chapel in Schönbrunn in Upper Swabia , a district of Markt Türkheim, is a Roman Catholic private chapel . It was built in 1845. The small, north-facing rectangular building has a small arched window on each of the long sides. A wooden box cornice is located above the profiled eaves cornice. The gable roof is hipped in the north. In the south there is a profiled, framed round arch door. The door leaf is paneled, the upper part pierced by Gothic tracery. On the south gable there is a profiled cornice and cantilevered slopes. There is a circular opening in the top of the gable. In the flat-roofed interior, there are pillar projections in the four corners.

The small altar made of wood and placed on the cafeteria dates from around 1680. It has two winding pillars entwined with vines and cranked entablature. In the middle is a rectangular framed, flat shell niche with a relief of the Salvator as a half figure. In the extract is a quatrefoil opening. On both sides there is an unspecified statuette above the pillars. One shows a holy bishop, the other a pope. The mounted, wooden figures date from the middle of the 18th century. Furthermore, a set figure of St. Peter and one of St. Paul as a half-figure are part of the equipment. The name of the respective figure is attached to the base. They date from the late 17th century.
