ProGenesis

ProGenesis is an association of Christians from different churches, free churches and professions. The association was founded on October 27, 2001 in Switzerland. Its aim is to spread biblical creationism as an alternative to the theory of evolution .

General

At the end of 2005 it had around 480 members. The seat of the association is Aeugst am Albis . ProGenesis Germany was founded in January 2003 and is based in Bergneustadt . The association is close to Christian fundamentalism .

The association is one of the most important German-speaking representatives of creationism and intelligent design in Switzerland . A similar organization is the German association Studiengemeinschaft Wort und Wissen .

The management consultant Gian Luca Carigiet is the honorary chairman. Most of the employees work on a voluntary basis. The association is mainly financed by donations.

Views

The association takes the position that "the theory of evolution is still an unproven theory", that "Holy Scripture" contrary to the "claims of modern liberal theologians and scientists who believe in evolution" is also historically relevant and that God is "neither a mythological fairy tale" nor a " mystical experience and also not a primal principle inherent in nature ”, but a“ tangible reality ”.

The association pursues the following goals:

Publication: Biblically founded alternatives to science should be presented in magazines, books, DVDs and on the Internet. The factum magazine is supported.

Public Relations: The focus of public relations is on the dissemination of the publications produced in the form of lectures and discussion events.

One focus of the publication is on the critical examination of the theory of evolution , which is opposed to a creationist interpretation as an alternative.

A big project is Genesis Land , a big adventure park. In the center of this park there should be an ark, the dimensions of which correspond to the information in the Bible. The project is in the planning stage. Since the main target group of the park are American tourists, a feasibility study showed that the ideal location would be in Heidelberg or the neighboring metropolitan region of Rhine-Neckar . After initial requests for a location search were rejected by both the city administration and the Association of the Metropolitan Region and the Protestant church of the city also expressed its negative opinion, the association wants to continue looking for a location in the Rhine-Neckar area, in the immediate greater Heidelberg area dispense.
