ProTool (software)
ProTool is a software package from Siemens for visualization in the machine-level area for a wide variety of requirements. This software is a configuration tool for the configuration of panels of the SIMATIC series, as well as a "Protool / Pro" runtime that can run on a PC . This software presents a graphical user interface with mouse operation, drop-down menus, icons and an integrated help system.
There was already a predecessor software called Coros from Siemens, but with ProTool a generation change was initiated. There was another generation change in 2004 with the successor software WinCC flexible.
