Test strips

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A sample strip is a strip-shaped piece of photo paper . It is used in the darkroom as an aid to determine the exact exposure of a print. To do this, the negative is placed in the enlarger and the motif is partially covered. The test strip is exposed in defined steps and the cover is moved a little further after each step. The exposure time gradually adds up over the entire motif. After developing, look for the section with the optimal exposure. The exposure time for the finished print can be determined by adding up the individual times.
