Profiling
Narrow down, definition
Profiling (English profiling ) means (according to sec), the usable creating the complete image of a figure for certain purposes (e.g., for example, for placement or when the culprit search). The creation takes place by merging data, as well as their subsequent analysis and purpose-related evaluation.
Applications (purpose)
- In criminology and police work, the creation of perpetrator profiles through operational case analyzes and
- in general and in the fight against terrorism, the compilation and analysis of linked time and position information of people and their activities ( movement profile ) and
- “ Predictive Policing ”;
- in marketing supposedly to create as precise and individual customer profiles as possible in "target marketing" by customer profilers in order to be able to foresee and influence the moment of a purchase decision as precisely as possible ("behavior microtargeting ") - note: illegal without the consent of the person concerned according to GDPR Art. 6;
- the creation of a profile of the addresses and call times of accessed internet services or websites (internet profile); ( User profile );
- the creation of personality, behavior or movement profiles by collecting and evaluating data, including through tracking or web tracking and cookies left on the Internet , information that has been made and published, e.g. B. on social contacts, political attitudes, personal worldview, personal preferences, financial circumstances, health situation and other information that result in a model, algorithm- based overall picture of an individual personality, also through the collection of information from the use of "smart" things ( Internet of Things ) such as household appliances, vehicles or portable or implemented (small) computers (" wearables " such as "health bracelets") or microchips or as part of " gamification ",
- its classification and assessment as well as evaluation under various aspects by means of z. B. Scoring ,
