The Progress Station ( Russian Прогресс or Прогресс-2 ) is a Russian (formerly Soviet ) research station in the Antarctic . It is located in the Larsemann Hill Oasis on the banks of Prydz Bay .

The station was established by the 33rd Soviet Antarctic Expedition on April 1, 1988 and relocated to another location on February 26, 1989. In 2000 the work was temporarily suspended, but the station reopened in 2003.
