The Larsemann Hills ( Norwegian Larsemann Fjellene ) are a series of low and rounded hills on the Ingrid Christensen coast of the East Antarctic Princess Elisabeth Land . They rise up on the south bank of Prydz Bay and extend from the Dålk Glacier over a length of 14 km. The ice-free area has a total area of around 40 km².

The Norwegian whaling captain Karius Mikkelsen (1887 - unknown) discovered them in February 1935 as part of the Thorshavn's fourth Antarctic voyage (1934–1935) financed by the Norwegian whaling entrepreneur Lars Christensen . The naming background has not survived. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names transferred the Norwegian name to English in 1947.

At the end of the 1980s, four polar stations were built in the Larsemann Hills: the Australian Law Station, now seasonally operated as the Romanian Law Racoviță Station , the Chinese Zhongshan Station and the Russian stations Progress and Progress-2 . The Indian Bharati station was added in the summer of 2012/2013 . In order to better coordinate human activities in the area with a view to environmental protection, the 252.54 km² special administrative area ASMA-6 “Larsemann Hills, East Antarctica” was established in 2007 .
