Promulgation Clause

The promulgation clause in Austria is the formula that precedes laws and regulations. It usually contains the legislature , the changed laws or regulations.

Laws of the Austrian National Council begin with "The National Council has decided:". Promulgation clauses can, however, be much more complex and, for example, in the case of an ordinance by the State School Council for Upper Austria, read as follows: »With reference to Section 7, Paragraph 3 of the Federal School Supervision Act 1962, as amended, the State School Council for Upper Austria in accordance with Section 6 School Organization Act 1962 (SchOG), BGBl. 1962/242, in the current version, in connection with the weekly hours relief and legal adjustment regulation for vocational middle and higher schools as well as for educational institutions for kindergarten pedagogy and social pedagogy of 13 June 2003, BGBl. 2003/283, the following curriculum provisions (lesson tables ) prescribed.
