The proparis pension foundation for trade in Switzerland , based in Bern, is a Swiss pension fund . As a joint foundation, it insures the staff of its affiliated companies or the members of its affiliated pension funds within the framework of the 2nd pillar .

The foundation was established in 1957 by the Swiss Trade Association as a joint foundation for occupational pensions in Swiss trade , with the aim of providing small and medium-sized enterprises ( SMEs ) with direct and administratively easy access to occupational pensions. At the end of 2014, a total of 11,630 businesses with 76,320 actively insured persons and 10,640 retirees were connected to proparis. The assets under management amounted to CHF 5.749 billion.

Legal bases

The legal basis is formed by the Federal Act on Occupational Old-Age, Survivors 'and Disability Pension Plans , the Federal Act on Freedom of Movement in Occupational Old-Age, Survivors' and Disability Pension Plans and the associated ordinances. The legal basis also includes the statutes of the foundation and the regulations of the proparis pension foundation commercial Switzerland.

organization

The highest foundation body is the foundation council . This consists of eight employee and eight employer representatives and is elected for four years. The President of the Board of Trustees is Hans-Ulrich Bigler, Director of the Swiss Trade Association (sgv) as employer representative, while Rolf Frehner (UNIA) is vice-president as employee representative.

The other organs include the foundation assembly, the insurance commissions of the pension funds, the office, the auditors and an expert for occupational pensions. The management is responsible for operational management.
