Prosody (formerly lxmppd is) a platform independent XMPP - Server . The self-declared goal of development is ease of use, low system utilization and expandability.

Prosody is used by identi.ca and Peter Saint-Andre, President of the XMPP Standards Foundation, among others .

Development history

The development of Prosody was started by Matthew Wild in August 2008 as lxmppd.

Prosody was originally published under the GNU General Public License (GPL), but switched to the MIT license with version 0.3.0 .
