The Prospect Spur ( English for viewing ridge ) is a narrow mountain ridge in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . In the Queen Maud Mountains it extends in the Separation Range from the southwestern base of Cleft Peak in a westerly direction to the edge of the Hood Glacier .
Participants of the New Zealand Alpine Club Antarctic Expedition (1959-1960) named it so because they had climbed it to explore their route over the Hood Glacier in a southerly direction.
