Protestantism in Algeria

The Protestants in Algeria are a minority.

The small Protestant part of the population generally practices their faith without official intervention. The Protestant Church of Algeria only has a few thousand members. She is a reformed church . The Protestant Church of Algeria is one of the two officially recognized Christian organizations. Algerian Christians are concentrated in Kabylia .

Converts are at risk of attacks from radical Islamists . Christian mission societies are allowed to do charitable work without state intervention as long as they do not promote their faith. Since 2006 proselytizing Muslims can be punished with prison sentences of up to five years.
