The processional cross of San Millán de la Cogolla is a lecture cross that was created at the end of the 10th century in the monastery of San Millán de la Cogolla in the Spanish region of La Rioja . Two cross arms are exhibited today in the arts and crafts collection of the Musée du Louvre ( Département des objets d'art du musée du Louvre ) in Paris . A cross arm is located in the Museo Arqueológico Nacional de España in Madrid .

The cross is carved from ivory . The trapezoidal shape of the cross arms is typical of Mozarabic crosses. The front and back of the cross are decorated with ornamental ribbons showing griffins, lions, eagles and mythical animals in tendrils.
