Prummel bracket

The Prummel clamp or the Prummel peg ( Prummelklem in Dutch ) is a metal model cast clamp that is rarely used in dental technology .

The bracket differs from the usual brackets in that it has a pin extending from the lingual (i.e. on the inside of the teeth) bracket arm, which is attached vertically in the direction of the tooth root (in the picture the yellow "arm" protruding downwards). It serves as a reciprocal (alternating) stabilizing element and is always located below the tooth equator . The Prummel clamp is mainly attached to the lower jaw, but is rarely used.

The clip was named after its inventor, the Dutch dental technician Jaap Prummel.
