Helga Maria Niessen

Helga Maria Niessen (born September 19, 1954 in Trier ) is the former mayor of Kellinghusen and author of several books.

Life

Niessen grew up with seven siblings. After training as an office clerk , she worked in the administration and secretarial area in southern Germany.

At first she sold her own books by self-publishing , then also as a sales representative for books from other authors and publishers. In her free time, she made a pilgrimage along the Camino de Santiago , about which she published several books.

From the unemployment out ran Niessen after over 600 unsuccessful applications for positions as independents successfully for the office of Mayor of Kellinghusen. She is the first and last full-time mayor of the place, from April 1, 2010 the position will only be filled voluntarily. She was the first woman in Kellinghusen in this office. In 2008 she was honored by the school commander for her collaboration with the infantry school in Hammelburg.
