Psychology student council conference

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Federal Student Councils PsyFaKo is the union of the psychology student councils .

composition

The PsyFaKo is the federal student council meeting of psychology students and thus the representation of the interests of all psychological student councils in Germany. In June 2005 the PsyFaKo was launched in Landau. Since then, it has met once a semester for a weekend at different locations in Germany, with the next conference location always being determined at PsyFaKo.

The main aim of PsyFaKo is to network the student councils, because this is the prerequisite for an exchange on the various university and study concepts. Mutual information about the strengths and weaknesses of the respective university are therefore just as much a topic of discussion as the writing of statements on current study policy issues. For example, the switch to Bachelor / Master was a major focus of the first PsyFaKos.

structure

Semi-annual conferences

The actual work of the PsyFaKo takes place at the biannual conferences. These consist on the one hand of small groups on topics ranging from university policy issues to problems in student council work. On the other hand, several plenaries take place, which serve to coordinate resolutions and statements of the PsyFaKo and, if necessary, to hold elections. In addition to the content-related work, there is a detailed supporting program with tours, excursions and celebrations.

A PsyFaKo is quorate when a quarter of all university psychological student councils send representatives and the PsyFaKo has been properly convened. So far this has always been the case since the statutes were passed, whereby the number of participants and student councils is subject to slight fluctuations, but has increased over the years.

Conference Council

The task of the three-person KonRat is to implement work orders formulated at the PsyFaKo, to manage the business of the PsyFaKo between the conferences and to help the respective organizing student body with the organization of the next PsyFaKo. The KonRat is elected and discharged by the plenum of the PsyFaKo. The term of office is one semester each - from one PsyFaKo to the next. To support the KonRat, a public relations officer and a website officer are provided. These are also elected by the plenary. The next organizing student body determines a person who strengthens the KonRat and should ensure that the next PsyFaKo is planned smoothly.

society

In 2012, for the 14th PsyFaKo conference in Osnabrück, the association PsyFaKo eV was founded with its headquarters in Bamberg. The registration as a non-profit association enables both the application for funding and the opportunity to receive donations. In addition, the work could be continued outside of the biannual conferences.

Positions

Abolition of compulsory attendance

The PsyFaKo calls for the consistent abolition of the compulsory attendance at courses, as this is not justified by the constitutional principle of proportionality . In this sense, a strengthening of the personal responsibility of students is required. An extension of the co-determination rights is also explicitly meant.

Systematic implementation of teaching evaluations

The PsyFaKo advocates the systematic implementation of anonymous evaluations of courses. The results should be published and thus lead to a mutual debriefing both with the students and between the lecturers. In addition to improving teaching, the aim is also to provide new impulses for the design of study and examination regulations.

Situation of psychotherapists in training

With regard to the situation of psychotherapists in training (PiA) , PsyFaKo positions itself clearly against precarious employment conditions during psychotherapy training. It demands appropriate remuneration in line with professional qualifications. Specifically, this provides for classification in pay group 13 of the TVöD / TV-L . A training period of at least three weeks is required for the practical work. The legal status should be an employment relationship based on written contracts according to labor law standards.
