Publius Cornelius Scipio Asiaticus

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Publius Cornelius Scipio Asiaticus came from a patrician family and was a Roman politician and senator . He was the son of the consul of the year 24, Publius Cornelius Lentulus Scipio , and brother of the consul of the year 56, Publius Cornelius Lentulus Scipio . Like his father, he made it to the suffect consulate (colleague Gaius Bellicius Natalis ) in 68 . He did not get his Cognomen Asiaticus for his own achievements, but rather as a reference to family history. The research also excluded the birth during his father's proconsulate in the province of Asia .
