The pulpete is a seal in the organ through which the trigger wire of the valve is led out of the wind box of the wind chest .

The pulpete is mostly made as a bowl-shaped piece of leather made of soft and thin leather that is glued to the bottom of the wind box. Pulpets can alternatively be made of metal pulpets. For this purpose, a disc made of lead or brass , which is placed on the bottom of the wind box, is covered on the lower side with a sealing leather disc and the through hole of the trigger wire is felted out in order to reduce the outflow noise of the wind .
