Desk folder

Desk folder for sorting documents

A desk folder is a folder that is subdivided inside, i.e. consists of connected compartments and registers. Desk folders are usually used to sort documents by name, location or date , especially for resubmission for certain days. Desk files are made of plastic or sturdy cardboard in A4 format .

The register is often numbered (mostly from 1 to 31 or 1 to 12), alphabetically, sorted by month or unlabeled; combinations also exist. The capacity depends mainly on whether the desk binder has a (stretchable) back. Punched holes show whether there are still leaves in the rear area.

A desk folder can also be used for pre-sorting before final filing or for collecting material, for example for scientific work. It can also be used as a signature folder, but is less suitable because of the more flexible manufacturing method.
