Panevėžys Puppet Theater
The Panevėžys Puppet Theater (lit. Panevėžio lėlių vežimo teatras ) is a theater in Lithuania that is the only European puppet theater to perform its performances on a horse-drawn vehicle. In the summer it regularly travels to Lithuanian villages and towns with its two-horse wagon.
history
The theater was founded in Panevėžys in 1986 by director and director Antanas Markuckis . Every year there are 300 performances and 3 to 4 premieres. The theater has made guest appearances in the Netherlands , Denmark , Russia and Estonia .
A film "Kelionių magija" (director: Janina Lapinskaitė ) was made about the theater .
It was awarded the Borisas Dauguvietis Prize.
