Pure (company)
Pure is an English company in the consumer electronics industry. As a subsidiary of Imagination Technologies ( taken over by the Chinese investor Canyon Bridge Capital Partners in 2017 ), it is responsible for the marketing of products based on technologies from Imagination Technologies and its subsidiaries.
history
The company was founded on August 31, 1999 as VideoLogic Systems following a restructuring and renaming from VideoLogic Limited to Imagination Technologies. At the same time, VideoLogic Systemes with the old company name was founded in order to market the products of the newly created PowerVR Technologies (including VideoLogic Vivid! And Vivid! XS). During this time they offered self-developed audio products such as B. Sound cards (including VideoLogic SonicFury or SonicStorm) or speaker systems and graphics cards with technologies from PowerVR Technologies.
After the offer shifted increasingly in the direction of audio products, especially DAB devices , due to a lack of graphic products from PowerVR Technologies , the company was renamed PURE Digital on July 15, 2002 . VideoLogic was used as a brand name for several years. Since 2008 the company has only operated under the name Pure . At the beginning of 2012, for the tenth anniversary of Pure, a new corporate identity was presented, which includes a new logo and a new design.
Products
Currently, the product range includes primarily DAB devices such as fixed and portable radios , Internet radios , alarm clock and iPod - docking stations . The technology for these products comes mainly from sister company Ensigma Technologies .
In 2008 Pure released its first internet radio Evoke Flow and the internet radio portal The Lounge . Internet radio stations, audio-on-demand , podcasts and sounds of nature are available free of charge on this online portal . The platform was replaced by the music platform Pure Connect in 2012 . Pure Connect offers the sale of individual music tracks and albums and the cloud- based music portal Pure Music . On September 2, 2012, Pure Tag was introduced, which makes it possible to recognize tracks that are currently playing on the radio and then to buy them directly. An iPhone, iPad and Android app for the online platform was released in 2010.
Pure entered the UK TV business in 2012 with the Avalon 300D Connect. Avalon 300D Connect is a Freeview + HD digital TV recorder with BBC iPlayer, Youtube and Pure Connect integration. The technology for this product comes primarily from PowerVR Technologies.
Pure Smart Home has been producing loudspeakers in the classic Braun design under license from Braun since September 2019 .
