Purodha is a quarterly in Pondicherry in India published journal of the Sri Aurobindo Society . The magazine has been published in Hindi and Bengali since before the Second World War. Their main task is to illuminate and disseminate the teachings of integral yoga . These were founded by the Indian mystic and teacher Swami Sri Aurobindo and will be further developed by the Sri Aurobindo Society after the death of the guru .

The word Purodha is Sanskrit and roughly means torchbearer , someone who brings light, carries a source of enlightenment or spiritual knowledge and thus supports others in finding and walking their personal yoga , the path of meditation or contemplation , it doesn't matter which school, and so to get closer to God. In a more specific sense, a Purodha is a person who usually assists the learners in an assistant role to the teacher in a yoga class or a yoga school and serves as a role model. For these, Purodha is used as a designation or title. In the Ananda Marga teaching, the Purodha is elected and acts as a priest on behalf of the absent guru. Purodha is also one of the ninety-nine names of the divine in its Hindu, Indian / Nepalese expression.
