Push back (limit)
As a push-back ( English for push back), and push-back action , is pushing back by foreign persons without proper residence permits for the target country in border areas referred.
In Germany, this formulation is used by refugee aid organizations in connection with the European border protection agency Frontex or border police units of the European countries. This is a violation of the principle of non-refoulement .
While push-back is a common practice in Australia when dealing with boat refugees, it is legally controversial in Europe. Human rights organizations such as Pro Asyl regularly complain about push-backs at the EU's external borders. In February 2020, the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg ruled that push-backs at the EU's external border are permitted under certain circumstances and that they do not violate the principle of non-refoulement.
