Pussy (comic)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Pussy ( French : Poussy ) is a cartoon character by the Belgian comic artist Peyo .

The black cat with the white belly and white paws made its debut in the Belgian daily Le Soir in 1949 , and by 1955, around 200 more half-page comic strips followed . At the same time as Pussy, Peyo also published the adventures of Johann and Pfiffikus , in which The Smurfs later had their first appearance. In contrast to other comic cats, pussy cannot speak, but the cat also shows human traits, especially through their powers of observation or their mischief, combined with a lovely naivete .

From 1965, the half-page stories that first appeared in Le Soir were reprinted in the weekly Spirou . When all the gags from Le Soir in 1969 were used up and appeared in Spirou, Peyo entrusted his assistant Lucien De Gieter, who drew 46 new gags in the series. After a break of almost three years in Spirou magazine, Daniël Desorgher drew 16 new pussy gags in 1977. Between 1989 and 1992 a total of 21 new gags by Daniël Desorgher, Éric Closter and Philippe Delzenne appeared, each of which appeared in Schtroumpf magazine.
