Plastering machine

The plaster milling machine is a hand-held power tool that is used to remove plaster from wall areas, but also to remove paint coatings or adhesive residues.

Mode of action

Plaster milling machines use special tool inserts with hard metal milling wheels , which run with a lot of play on axes over the surface to be processed. The machine speed of a cleaning milling machine is not more than 20 meters per second, as the risk of breaking the hard metal milling wheels increases very quickly. For comparison: Concrete grinders work at peripheral speeds of up to 80 meters per second.

operation area

Plaster cutters are primarily used to remove plaster. But they have also proven their worth when removing old paintwork or tile adhesive. They can also be used as concrete grinders to a limited extent. Modern handheld plaster milling machines have a suction hood and a milling depth setting as well as a speed controller with power electronics for a constant speed under load. The lower speed range must also be seen as a special characteristic. The lower this can be set, the better the removal of problematic thermoplastic old coatings that would otherwise smear the tool. Since 2009 it has been observed on the market that the plaster milling machine is increasingly being displaced by concrete grinders . In contrast to the plaster milling machine, the concrete grinder also offers the option of using sanding discs with PCD segments . The PCD grinding discs do not suffer from the typical problems of a cleaning milling machine, such as B. the setting or clogging of the milling wheels affected.

species

In a simple classification, there are three types of plastering cutters:

Tower shape

The electric motor is perpendicular to the surface to be worked on, the handles are attached to the right and left of the motor.

Angle grinder shape

The electric motor is connected in parallel with these devices to be machined substrate; its drive torque is diverted via a gear. It is operated like a concrete grinder . Instead of the bow handle, a side or button handle can also be mounted on some devices.

Pure tillers

The electric motor is perpendicular to the ground to be worked on, the handle is connected to the drive unit via a drawbar.
