Wilfried Horn

Wilfried Horn (born November 2, 1938 in Hagen ) is a former German CDU politician .

Born the third son of a farrier from Letmathe , Horn completed an apprenticeship as a machine fitter . From 1957 to 1999 he was employed by a Letmath family company in the metal processing industry, where he was part of the works council .

Horn has been a member of the CDU since 1969. In the same year he was elected to the council of the then still independent city of Hohenlimburg . After Hohenlimburg's incorporation in 1975, he was a member of the council of the independent city of Hagen . From 1994 to 1999 Horn was also one of the mayors (honorary deputy to the mayor ) of Hagen. In 1999 he was elected full-time mayor ( election officer ). He held this office until 2004. He was the first directly elected Lord Mayor of the city of Hagen and beat the favorite and incumbent Dietmar Thieser (SPD) in the direct election . Since 1946, the SPD had always appointed the city's mayor. Wilfried Horn did not run for a second term.

Wilfried Horn is married and has two daughters.
