Dietmar Thieser

Dietmar Thieser (born November 27, 1952 in elections ) is a German politician.

From 1989 to 1999 he initially worked as honorary mayor of the independent city of Hagen . From 1994 to 1996 he was also a member of the Bundestag as a directly elected member of the Hagen constituency and belonged to the SPD parliamentary group . Thieser had to resign his mandate on December 19, 1996, as he was now full-time mayor due to the reform of the municipal code of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, and this was incompatible with the Bundestag mandate . Previously, the office of Lord Mayor in North Rhine-Westphalia was an honorary position and the administration was in the hands of the City Director .
