Alfred Finke
Alfred Finke (born January 17, 1888 in Magdeburg ; † September 15, 1971 ; full name: Julius Alfred Finke ) was a German local politician .
Life
Finke was a son of the singer Julius Finke and his wife Walpa nee. Doehring. He spent his youth in Dresden and studied at the University of Cologne and the University of Frankfurt as well as at the University for Municipal Administration in Düsseldorf , where he acquired the qualification for the higher administrative service. During the First World War he was employed in the civil administration of the General Government of Warsaw . In 1917 he became mayor of Wreschen (province of Posen), 1920 of Gollnow (Pomerania), 1921 of Grünberg in Silesia , 1927–1929 mayor of Hagen (Westphalia).
Outside of his area of office, Finke was involved as a board member of the Association for Local Economy and Local Policy and the German Garden City Society . He was also the editor of the magazine for municipal services and the magazine water and gas .
